Following on from a very successful inaugural Deer2Succeed event in 2024, HBDFA is again hosting an informative and scenic day out for deer farmers.
There is a countryside drive up under the Ruahine Ranges first, to Richard & Emma Lawson’s substantial hill country breeding unit with plenty of scale and steep stuff.
After lunch, the focus is on a couple of nasty and annoying issues that bug many deer farmers. There aren’t necessarily complete answers, but we’ll work through key concerns and the good news stories. We’ll also do a quick wrap of the 2026 HB hind scanning results, and share a few good results and maybe the odd, unexpected disaster, with some key messages for successful scanning.
Finish the day with a bit of social activity too, with a barbeque and a beverage at the Onga Onga Golf Club.
There is no cost to attend, but if you are silly enough to forget to book yourself and your team in beforehand, then you will have to go to the Onga store for a pie! One job: RSVP please.
