Ayenugui-Alcérreca, M.A. (2006) Epidemiology and Control of Leptospirosis in Farmed Deer
PhD thesis examining the national distribution and on-farm epidemiology of leptospiral infections, as well as the effectiveness of vaccination in reducing risk to animals and humans and the influence of maternally derived antibody on vaccine response. This research investigated the epidemiology and distribution of infection associated with serovars Hardjobovis, Pomona, and Copenhageni in farmed deer. Serology, bacteriology, and pathology were employed as determinants of infection and vaccine efficacy

Tisdall, J. (1985) Eruption pattern of the permanent incisor teeth of farmed red deer.
Biology of Deer Production. Royal Society of NZ
The objectives of this study were to determine whether incisor tooth eruption of farmed deer follows the same pattern as that of red deer in the feral environment. The results emphasise the fact that determining age from eruption of permanent incisors is limited to animals between 12 an 24 months of age and is therefore of little practical value to the NZ deer farmer
