Fisher, M.W. (1990) A note on melatonin-treated red deer stags advancing the onset of the calving season in hinds.
Animal Production
Aim was to assess the importance of treating stags and hinds with melatonin, on the onset of the bredding and subsequent calving season. Results demonstrated that treatment of red deer hinds or stags with exogenous melatonin can result in an earlier calving season and suggest seasonally advanced stags can stimulate earlier breeding activity in hinds

Fisher, M.W. (1989) A note on the induction of ovulation in lactating red deer hinds prior to the breeding season.
Animal Production
Comparison of the efficacy of GnRH and PMSG treatment in the inducement of ovulation in lactating hinds, prior to the breeding season. Results demonstrated that for lactating farmed red deer, treatment with progesterone and either PMSG or GnRH are effective ways of inducing ovulation prior to the breeding season
