Party Time in Southland

It hasn’t been all about the North Island.  On 30 July all the Southland Advance Parties and the Southland DFA branch had a combined day with a wide range of guest speakers.  Over 50 people attended and heard from David Stevens (AgResearch) on winter grazing and GPS for research; James Gardyne (Halter) on productivity benefits from virtual fencing; Tony Roberts on smart ear tags (recording heats in hinds).

By all accounts people enjoyed the session content and about half of the attendees stayed on for dinner and a get together socially afterwards. Good for farmer wellbeing and strengthening collaboration between the different groups.
