Understanding and Managing Internal Parasites in Deer Systems
Managing internal parasites is an ongoing challenge in our farming systems and deer have some specific challenges that are different to our sheep and cattle. Animal health management and planning is an important aspect of overall integrated farm planning.
This workshop presents the latest information and research on internal parasite control. It is divided into multiple sections dealing with worm biology, drenches and drench resistance.
This workshop will cover what's involved in being 'Wormwise' and look at topics like:
- The worm life cycle
- Drenching programmes
- Refugia
- Managing drench resistance on your farm
This workshop will be facilitated by Camille Flack
NOTE: This workshop may be combined with the Ongaonga/Tikokino workshop depending on registration numbers.
