Mark this in your diaries - the 2024 Next Generation Programme

The NZDFA Next Generation Programme is an initiative to foster the growth of those Next Generation deer farmers in the industry that are keen to learn more about deer farming, connect with other like-minded deer farmers and get on farm to see what is possible with the input of knowledge, technology and a little know-how!

The twelfth Next Generation Programme is shaping up to be a fantastic event. Based out of Palmerston North on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 August the programme will include farm visits and theory alongside a social evening. The programme is being worked through and will be updated here once confirmed. 

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

SPACES ARE LIMITED TO 50 SO REGISTRATIONS ARE ESSENTIAL

Due to the popularity of the programme, preference will be given to those who haven't attended before.

Once all the places are taken, we will be running a waitlist and will let you know if you're on that when you register.

Please wait until your spot is confirmed before booking flights.

The NZDFA covers the cost of:

• the programme
• evening function meal
• ground transport for attendees flying in

You'll have to cover the costs of:

• accommodation
• breakfasts
• travel to/from Palmerston North and transport between venues if you aren't flying in
• flights if needed

Remember to have a talk to your local branch to see if they're able to support you to attend and get behind this great initiative.

Day 1 - Thursday 8th August

• 10:00am - Meet at Mangahoa Farm - 213 Mangahao Road, Shannon
• 12:30pm - Lunch 
• 14:00pm - Greenhill Farm - 350 Mangaone Road, Feilding
• 16:30pm - Wrap up
• 18:30pm - Dinner, sit down for 19.00pm - Brew Union, 41 Broadway Avenue

Day 2 - Friday 9th August

• 9:00am – Meet at Venison Packers Feilding -  63 Kawakawa Road, Feilding (just around the corner from Darragh Road)

  • Markets 

• 12:00pm - Lunch - Fielding Golf Club,1487 Waughs Road, Aorangi
• 13:00pm - Classroom session (Fielding Golf Club)
• 15:15pm - Overview and wrap up
