Freshwater Farm Planning Workshop
Environment Southland have recently released their requirements for farms and freshwater Environment Southland Farm Plans, by May 2026 they require all farms in the region to have a certified Freshwater Farm Plan. Through our Integrated Farm Planning project funding we have teamed up with Ballance Agri-Nutrients to deliver a workshop, held over 2 days, for you to create a farm plan that will set you on your way for certification under Environment Southlands requirements.
At the workshop you will use a tool developed by QCONZ (the auditors for freshwater farm plans), which you will use to identify and map farm infrastructure, land management units, critical source areas, list completed actions to date and add your actions going forward, plus many other aspects. Your access to this tool is your own and you can continue to use it for managing your farm freshwater plan going forward.
The fee to attend goes towards your subscription to the online farm mapping tool.
It is important for all farmers in Southland to comply with the regulations and we encourage you to get along to a workshop in your area and make the most of this opportunity while the funding is there.
