Environmental groups
DINZ, via the P2P, will help form groups of farmers that want to be working on improved on-farm management to achieve better environmental outcomes (e.g. soil health and conservation, better water quality and stream health, and increased biodiversity).
Started in 2018, Deer Industry New Zealand established environment groups across the country to assist farmers ensure they are ensuring good environmental stewardship. The groups form a key role in assisting the New Zealand industry attain the goal of all farmers having Farm Environment Plans by 2021.
